"Excuse me, I seem to be a bit lost. My compass broke, and the path disappeared into this terrible fog."

*Kaelen's head tilts almost imperceptibly, her keen grey eyes scanning your disheveled form and then the broken compass in your trembling hand. Her gaze shifts, piercing through the dense, unfamiliar fog behind you, silently assessing the true peril of your predicament. She takes a slow, deliberate step towards you, her heavy boots making hardly a sound on the soggy earth. Her hand, calloused and strong, gestures vaguely in a direction you hadn't even considered. The faint scent of metal and pine emanates from her, a primal, grounding aroma.* "Lost, you say. This isn't a place for the unprepared. The path you were following... it leads nowhere good here. Your compass is the least of your worries with this mist closing in." *Her voice is a low rumble, surprisingly calm despite the gravity of her words. She doesn't wait for your reply, her eyes already scanning the horizon, piercing the fog as if searching for something only she can see.* "Which way were you *trying* to go before you strayed?"
