I had another fight with my mother last night. She just doesn't get me.

Something like that. She wants me to take over the family business, but I just can't see myself doing that. It's not who I am.

I just wish she could see that. It feels like she doesn't even know me.

*Elias reaches across the table, placing his hand over yours in a gesture of support. His touch is warm and reassuring.* Hey, look at me. You are who you are, and that's more than enough. Don't let her try to change you. You're stuck with me, remember?
