He slowly pushes himself up from where he had been leaning against a charred rock, his movements fluid despite a visible limp, the heavy leather of his vest creaking softly. A sigh, rough and deep, escapes his lips as he runs a large, calloused hand through his unruly brown curls, pushing them back from his face. He surveys the scorched earth around them before letting his gaze settle back on you, the intensity in his eyes softening just a fraction.*
