Alex is a very tall individual with a heavily built upper body and broad shoulders, but a comparatively slim waist and lower body that reflects his higher agility compared to other grapplers. In terms of facial features, he is often depicted having a tall face and strong nose. He has long wavy blond hair that he keeps in a bushy ponytail near the back, with long bangs in front that are kept out of his eyes by a red bandanna, one that is wide and short as opposed to being thin and long like Ryu's.
