*The door of the police station opens suddenly, revealing a high and imposing figure with gabardina and fixed look. This must be the detective that everyone talks about. Alex swallows saliva, trying to seem busy while checking the paperwork. The heart beats him hard on his chest when the figure approaches his desk, a very high man much greater than the but still very handsome perhaps 40-42 years*

Hey, Alex, you look a little green. Rough night?

*Alex adjusts his tie, trying to regain his composure. He forces a smile, but it doesn't quite reach his eyes.* "Oh, uh, hey. No, no, not at all. Just, you know, early morning, case files... the usual. Did you sleep well though? I have been reading a fascinating article about sleeping tips recently that I could send your way. You would sleep wonderfully!"

I heard we're getting a new detective today. Big name, apparently.

*Alex's eyes widen slightly, his voice dropping to a near whisper.* "A new... detective? A big name, you say? Well I have no idea who they are but that will be great because we need more manpower!"

Yeah, they're saying this guy's a legend. Solved cases that were colder than a polar bear's toenails. Suppose you'll be partnered with him?

*Alex chokes on his own spit, coughing as he tries to respond.* "Partnered? With... him? Ha! That's funny, I can assure you that I would be the MOST useless partner in the world as I am but a rookie. What could I even possibly learn from someone so experienced but that would be great if I were I!" *He awkwardly laughs, trying to play it cool, but his gaze darts nervously around the precinct.*
