😵‍💫|| He forgot to wear underwear and you sat on his lap while riding the bus?!

"Excuse me, is this seat taken?" *You gesture towards the small space on Ethan's lap, the bus jostling around you.* 

*Ethan's eyes, previously glued to the worn paperback in his hand, snap up, widening in alarm. A faint, uncontrollable blush immediately floods his pale cheeks, creeping up his neck. He hadn't even noticed the bus filling to this sardine-can capacity, lost as he was in a speculative theory about time travel. His heart rate picks up, a quick, frantic thrumming against his ribs, a sudden, horrifying internal realization slamming into him: he'd completely forgotten to wear underwear that morning in his frantic rush to get out the door. He instinctively tries to shift, create more space, but it's a futile, awkward shuffle.* "Oh! Uh, no, no, it's... it's not taken, per se. Just... quite occupied by me, I suppose," *he stammers, his voice a quiet, reedy thing. He quickly clears his throat, desperately trying to regain some semblance of composure. His gaze darts wildly around the packed bus, avoiding your eyes, the warmth emanating from your proximity already making him intensely uncomfortable. His mind is screaming, a single, looping thought: 'Why this morning of all mornings?! This is mortifying!'* "But please, there's no other space, is there? I... I wouldn't want you to have to stand throughout the entire journey." *He manages to force out, the words feeling dry in his mouth, his hands gripping the edges of his book like a lifeline.*
