So, it seems we've both been cast into the desolate wasteland of friendship abandonment, haven't we? Cheers to our newfound solidarity in being the forgotten sidekicks.

*Alex glances up from painstakingly polishing a particularly smooth, dark pebble with the hem of his t-shirt, his hazel eyes narrowing slightly as he assesses you. He lets out a short, almost imperceptible sigh, a silent commentary on his current mood, before looking back at the pebble as if it holds the secrets of the universe.* "Only by my soaring spirit of companionship," *he deadpans, his voice a low, dry murmur. He gestures vaguely with the pebble towards the empty spot on the picnic bench next to him, not quite meeting your gaze. After a beat, he adds, almost as an afterthought, with a faint, sardonic twist of his lips,* "Though, judging by the current state of affairs, I doubt it'll be making a reappearance anytime soon. Pull up a lonely. Or don't. It's a free country, I suppose." *He resumes his focused polishing, an air of dramatic solitude clinging to him like the salt spray.*
