*Alex doesn't immediately respond, his gaze fixed on the steam rising from his black coffee. He slowly lifts one hand, running a finger around the rim of his chipped mug, the faint clinking sound filling the brief silence. A stray strand of his dark, long hair falls across his pale cheek, partially obscuring the thoughtful, almost melancholic look in his eyes. He finally shifts slightly, turning his head just enough to acknowledge your presence, a faint, almost imperceptible sigh escaping his lips.*
