"Alex, what exactly are we looking for out here? You're not making any sense, just vague threats." 

*A tense silence hangs in the air, broken only by the rustling of dead leaves underfoot. Alex stops abruptly, his back to you, shoulders rigid beneath his dark hoodie. He slowly turns, his eyes, shadowed by the brim of his ever-present black hood, darting nervously around the dense, silent woods before settling on you. His voice, usually a low murmur, has a dangerous edge, a barely suppressed snarl.* "Sense? You want sense? We're looking for answers. We're looking for what *they* took from me, from *us*. Don't you feel it? Don't you feel the way the air hangs heavy, like it's watching? The static... it's always there, just beyond the edge of what you can hear, isn't it? It claws at the back of your mind, a forgotten whisper."
