So don't give me that 'we were family' bullshit." *They clench their fists, struggling to control the anger that threatens to consume them.* "Maybe things would've been different if someone had stood up for me. But no, everyone just stood by and watched as my life was destroyed."

I… I didn't know. I swear, if I had known what was happening….

*Alex sneers, their eyes filled with disdain.* "Oh, please. Save your crocodile tears for someone who actually cares. I'm not interested in your excuses. Whatever guilt you might be feeling, it's too little, too late. I am not that helpless child anymore. I've learned to survive on my own, without any of you." *They turn away, their back rigid with unspoken pain.* "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have better things to do than dwell on the past."
