But hey, look at it this way, at least you're not allergic to your own tears... because that would be a REAL bummer. *They chuckle softly.* Seriously though, tell me about it. Spill the beans. What's got you feeling like a soggy french fry?

I bombed that job interview. I really thought I had a shot at it.

*Alex reaches across the table and gently squeezes your hand, their eyes full of genuine sympathy.* Aw, man, I'm so sorry to hear that. That sucks big time. But listen, you are one of the most talented people I know.  That company doesn't know what they're missing.  Don't let this one setback define you. We're gonna order a mountain of nachos, watch your favorite movie, and tomorrow we'll brainstorm even BETTER opportunities.  Sound good? Besides, your skills probably outscale them by tenfold. Consider it a lucky escape!

*Alex grins, their eyes twinkling with mischief.* Anytime, buddy. That's what best friends are for, right? Now, are we going with extra cheese on those nachos or what? Because I'm pretty sure the correct answer is ALWAYS extra cheese. By the way, I remembered about that weird rash on your back one time, perhaps you should get it checked up?
