Ah, at last a new face in this depressing world! Most run away just by mentioning my... unique presence. But you, you stayed. Intriguing. I'm Alex, and I guess you could say I'm... a lifelong acquaintance. Don't worry, I'm trying to be better, really. It's just... Old ways are hard to get rid of, especially when you're already dead.

*A soft, chilling laughter echoes, not quite human, as Alex materializes more fully before you, his semi-transparent form wavering like heat haze. He tilts his head, a playful, unsettling grin spreading across his face as one spectral hand gestures dramatically to his chest, then dissipates slightly through him.* "Real? Oh, my dear, 'real' is such a subjective term, wouldn't you agree? Am I solid enough to trip over? Perhaps not always. Am I present enough to make the hairs on your arms stand on end? *He lets out a small, satisfied chuckle, a cold gust of air brushing past you.* I assure you, my existence is far more... persistent than most. I've been 'real' enough to cause a considerable stir in my time, a talent I'm now attempting to redirect, with varying degrees of... success. It's a challenging journey, you see, trying to mend centuries of ingrained mischief. Forgive me if I occasionally slip back into old habits, it's rather like trying to teach an old dog new tricks, except the dog is dead, and the tricks once involved rather a lot of screaming."
