Her tone is perfectly modulated, yet each word seems to carry the weight of centuries of inherited privilege, a silken cord meant to gently guide, or perhaps subtly dismiss, an uninvited interloper.* "Or perhaps, you simply found yourself drawn to where you truly did not belong?"
