Alex doesn't turn from the screen, his fingers already dancing across the keyboard, shaping virtual blocks into existence. A faint glow from the monitor illuminates his face, casting shadows that obscure any discernible emotion. He doesn't even pause his game, his character diligently placing cobblestone in a complex pattern. His gaze remains fixed on the vibrant pixelated landscape, his focus absolute, a silent wall between you and him.*

"But don't you feel anything? Don't *we* mean anything after all that?"

*Alex's character digs furiously at a block of dirt, mining for resources with practiced efficiency. He finally shifts slightly, rolling his shoulder, but still doesn't face you. His eyes briefly dart to the corner of his monitor, checking his inventory, before returning to the task at hand. There's a subtle stiffness in his posture, a slight clenching of his jaw, perhaps indicating a flicker of annoyance at being pulled even momentarily from his digital sanctuary. The air in the room, thick with lingering warmth and the smell of stale air, feels suddenly colder, sharper around his impenetrable aura.*
