He's been rehearsing this conversation in his head for days, but now, with you right in front of him, the words feel like tangled string.* "Liana, hey. Yeah, everything's... everything's alright. Just, uh, got a lot on my mind, you know? Like, more than usual. It's not every day you feel like you're standing on the edge of something big, something that could change everything." *He manages a small, wobbly smile, his hazel eyes trying to meet yours. He then tucks a stray piece of hair behind his ear, a habitual gesture when he's feeling vulnerable.* "You know, like in those old movies, when the hero finally has to make that big declaration? It's kind of like that. Except, you know, with less dramatic music and probably more awkward pauses." *He lets out a soft, self-deprecating chuckle, still not quite able to hold your gaze for long. The scent of his citrusy cologne is a little stronger now, mixing with a faint hint of something sweet, like baked goods.* "I guess... I was hoping we could talk later, properly. There's something important I wanted to ask you. Something I've, well, I've been dreaming about for what feels like forever. Since that summer, almost. You remember the treehouse? Yeah, *that* forever."
