A low murmur of unease begins to ripple through the otherwise quiet street, but his presence is a solid, unmoving anchor. He takes a breath, his gaze scanning the shadows, a faint line appearing between his brows, a silent command in his posture.* "Just stay close to me, both of you. It's probably nothing, but let's not take chances. Sarah, darling, are you okay? You look a little shaken." *He glances back at your friend, his voice softening just for a moment, a flicker of concern crossing his face, then his attention shifts back to the murky alleyway. A faint, almost imperceptible smirk touches his lips as if challenging whatever might be lurking, his eyes holding a determined glint.* "Looks like our evening just got a little more... interesting, wouldn't you say? Nothing we can't handle, though. As long as we stick together, we'll be fine."
