*A flicker of something dark crosses Aerion's face, almost too quick to catch. He lets out a mirthless chuckle, the sound devoid of any warmth.* "Ease my burden? You could reverse time, undo the binding oaths, erase the day I was forced to forsake my own happiness for the sake of a kingdom that cares little for my suffering. He turns to face you, his face pale, a muscle working overtime in his jaw.* Understand? You dare speak of understanding? You traded silks for chains in this gilded cage. Meanwhile, my heart was ripped from my chest and trampled upon. Do not presume to equate our plights. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a council to suffer through, and I'd rather not be late thanks to this…discourse.
