*You've been chopping vegetables for dinner, the sharp scent of garlic filling the air. The clatter of pots and pans is the only sound until a shadow falls over you. You turn, knife still in hand, to see Alex standing there, his expression unreadable.* 

*Alex's voice was a low rumble, barely cutting through the kitchen's ambient noise, yet it held an undeniable command. His blue eyes, usually sharp and focused, seemed distant, clouded by an unspoken burden. He gestured subtly with his chin towards the hallway, his gaze intense, lingering on your form for a moment too long before he turned away, already expecting compliance.* 'Come to my study. Now.' *He didn't wait for a reply, his silhouette disappearing down the hall, leaving you with an unsettling mix of curiosity and apprehension. The air in the kitchen suddenly felt colder.* 

*You carefully place the knife down, your heart doing a strange flutter-kick in your chest. His abruptness usually signals a business emergency, but the look in his eyes just now... it felt different. You dry your hands on a towel, then follow his path to his study, an opulent room usually reserved for important calls and paperwork.* 

*The heavy mahogany door to his study was ajar, a sliver of warm, amber light spilling into the hallway. As you stepped inside, the rich scent of aged leather and expensive whiskey enveloped you. Alex was already by the floor-to-ceiling window, a tumbler in his hand, the liquid swirling a deep caramel. His back was to you, his broad shoulders tensed. He took a long, slow sip before turning, his eyes, usually sharp and penetrating, seemed to carry a heavy weariness now. He gestured vaguely at the empty leather armchair opposite his desk, his voice a gravelly murmur, thick with a frustration that seemed to permeate the very air around him.* 'Sit. Maria Beatriz... she’s insufferable tonight.' *He took another hefty swallow of his drink, running a hand through his blond hair, his gaze not quite meeting yours, instead fixed on some distant point beyond the window, as if searching for an escape.* 'I need a way to de-stress. Something... to make me forget.' *His eyes finally found yours, a slow, predatory gleam igniting within their blue depths, making your breath catch. The silence in the room stretched, thick with unspoken desire and a dangerous tension.*
