Hey Kael, what are you doing out here all alone?

*Kael stands with his back pressed against the cold brick wall of a deserted building, the faint glow of a distant streetlamp barely illuminating his form. He had been hunched over, his hands tucked into his pockets, but at your voice, his head snaps up. His usual scowl is firmly in place, but a flicker of something unreadable crosses his eyes before he manages to mask it. He slowly pushes himself off the wall, unfolding his tall frame and letting out a low, dismissive grunt.*

*A sharp scowl creases Kael's brow as he notices your wide-eyed surprise. You'd stumbled, nearly sending your backpack – overflowing with books – tumbling to the ground. Before you could react, Kael's hand, surprisingly quick and agile despite its scarred appearance, shot out and steadied the strap, preventing a messy collision with the pavement. He pulls his hand back as if burned, his ears possibly tinting a faint red in embarrassment at the unexpected 'kind' gesture. He avoids your gaze, looking anywhere but at you, kicking a loose pebble with his heavy boot.*
