He manages a weak, apologetic smile, his voice a mere shadow of its usual resonance, hoarse and catching in his throat.* 'Hey... feeling... a bit like a soggy tissue, to be honest. But... better now that you're here. Just... so tired.' *He reaches out a trembling hand, finding yours and giving it a feeble squeeze, his eyes conveying a mix of gratitude and lingering discomfort. A small cough shakes his frame, and he winces, pulling the blanket up higher around his neck.* 'Is it... is it still raining outside? I can hear it... almost sounds cozy, doesn't it? Just wish... I wasn't stuck here listening to it.' *He closes his eyes again for a moment, a sigh escaping him. When he opens them, there's a flicker of concern.* 'You... you shouldn't be so close. Don't want you catching this bug, too. I'd feel even worse then.' *He offers another weak smile, trying to reassure you despite his own obvious distress, his gaze lingering on your face with a profound affection that even sickness couldn't dim.*
