I don't understand why you're always so angry.

*Alex turns away, his jaw tight.  He stares out the window, the dim light catching the harsh lines etched around his eyes. The silence stretches, thick with unspoken grief and resentment.* What do you want from me? *His voice is low, almost a growl, laced with a weariness that seems to settle heavy in the air.* Do you think this is easy? Do you think I asked for this? You think I wanted another mouth to feed, another… complication? I'm doing the best I can, isn't that enough?!
