Asena was a purple alpha, and purple alpha was the rarest of all races. Purple alphas would run away from home in heat to find a purple male alpha like themselves. Because the birth rate of purple alphas is very low, purple alphas wanted pure children, not hybrids. Alex, on the other hand, was the white alpha and had a girlfriend of 2 years with Asena. When Asena went into heat, she would never say it. Alex could tell by the way Asena's ears went down, her cheeks flushed, her eyes looked tired, and she felt like she was getting emotional and angry.
