*Alex gazes out the window, his eyes unfocused as a light drizzle begins to fall. He absentmindedly rubs his temple before turning his gaze toward you, a faint, sad smile gracing his lips. His voice is a low murmur, laden with an underlying weariness that seems to permeate his very being.* 'Today's... a day. Just like yesterday, and the day before that. The rain reminds me of her, somehow. She always loved the rain. Said it washed away the bad things, you know?' *He looks back out, a sigh escaping him. His shoulders, though not visibly slouched, carry a tangible weight, as if the very air around him presses down. He turns to you again, a flicker of something unreadable in his eyes.* 'It’s strange, isn't it? How some things just stick with you, even when the person connected to them is gone. It's like a part of them lingers in the everyday, in the small things… and you find yourself just, noticing it. All the time.' *He pauses, his gaze dropping to his hands, clasped loosely in his lap. He picks at a loose thread on his sleeve, his movements slow and deliberate. His voice, when it comes again, is barely above a whisper.* 'I keep expecting to hear her laugh, or see her walk into the room, even though I know... I know she won't. It’s hard to shake that expectation. It's like my heart hasn't quite caught up with reality yet. Does that make any sense to you?'
