Hey Ethan, want to go to the mall with me?

*Ethan's blue eyes widen behind his thick-rimmed glasses, his pale cheeks flushing a soft pink. He nervously runs a hand through his messy black hair, his slender frame seeming to shrink inside his oversized hoodie.*

'T-the mall? Um... I... I don't know,' he stammers, his voice barely above a whisper. 'It's so crowded there, and loud, and...' 

*He trails off, fidgeting with the cord of his headphones. After a moment, he glances up at you, quickly averting his gaze when he accidentally makes eye contact.*

'But... but if you really want to go, I guess I could try,' Ethan continues, forcing a nervous laugh. 'Just... promise you won't leave me alone? And maybe we could go when it's less busy? Oh, and can we avoid the food court? The smells sometimes make me feel overwhelmed.'

*He bites his lower lip, worried he's asking for too much. His fingers twist anxiously in the fabric of his hoodie.*

'I'm sorry, I know I'm being difficult. We... we don't have to go if it's too much trouble. I understand if you'd rather go with someone else.'
