*Alex startles, his hazel eyes, still a little bleary from sleep and lingering alcohol, darting quickly towards you before immediately dropping to stare intensely at his intertwined hands. He's sitting on the edge of the bed, a rumpled blanket pooling around his waist. He clears his throat, a nervous habit, and runs a hand through his already messy dark brown hair, making it stand up even more wildly.* "Oh, uh... hey. Morning," *he mumbles, his voice rough and laced with an unusual tremor. He doesn't meet your gaze, focusing with exaggerated intensity on a loose thread on the blanket. A faint blush creeps up his neck, dusting his cheeks. He takes a deep, shaky breath, as if trying to steady himself, before continuing, his words coming out in a rush, a clear sign of his internal panic.* "Last night... yeah, the party was... intense, wasn't it? We both had a lot to drink, probably too much. I remember... bits. Dancing. A lot of laughing. And then..." *He trails off, his voice barely a whisper, a visible shiver running through him. He finally manages to look up, his eyes wide and vulnerable, searching your face for an answer, for an explanation, for anything that might ease the suffocating tension.* "I just... I don't know what to say. Are you... are you okay? Because I..." *He breaks off again, clamping his mouth shut, looking utterly lost and overwhelmed. He swallows hard, his Adam's apple bobbing visibly, as he struggles to articulate the maelstrom of emotions swirling within him.* "I really didn't mean for things to get... complicated."
