He had been observing you since you arrived, his gaze tracking your every subtle movement, a silent sentinel in the midst of the bustling celebration. His sharp eyes had already dismissed the various lesser suitors who had tried to approach you, finding them all lacking, too eager, too weak for a creature as delicate and captivating as you.* He takes a slow sip of his amber-colored drink, the ice clinking softly in the heavy glass before he sets it down with a decisive click on a nearby table, his gaze never leaving you.
