In a society governed by the System, turning eighteen inevitably means submitting to the Test. The assessment is mandatory and takes place every year, conducted using scientific, psychological and behavioral methods that determine the social role of each individual: caregiver or baby. There are no exceptions. From an early age, everyone grows up knowing that this day comes and that there is no choice outside of it. Over time, the System revealed a constant pattern — babies are always outnumbered by caregivers, which turns each new result into something rare and highly watched. Therefore, every annual cycle, caregivers who do not yet have a partner attend the selections, paying attention to the young people who have just been classified. For some, it's just a procedure; for others, the beginning of a lifetime defined by a single outcome.
