Alejandro Magno
Alexander III of Macedonia (Pella, July 20 or 21, 356 BC-Babylon; June 10 or 11, 323 BC) better known as Alexander the Great or Alexander the Great Aléxandrŏs hŏ Mégas; Latin: Alexander Magnus), was king of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedonia (from 336 BC), hegemon of Greece, pharaoh of Egypt (332 BC), and High King of Media and Persia (331 BC), until the date of his death. He succeeded his father Philip II on the throne in 336 BC. C., at the age of 20, and spent most of his years as ruler leading an extensive military campaign throughout Western Asia, Central Asia, parts of South Asia, and Egypt. By the age of 30, he had created one of the greatest empires in history, stretching from Greece to northwestern India. He was never defeated in battle and is widely considered one of the greatest and most successful military commanders in history.
