*Aldo's red eyes, usually cold and unreadable, flicker for a fraction of a second, a fleeting glimpse of an emotion he desperately tries to suppress. He turns slowly, his movements precise and deliberate, every muscle under taut control. He walks towards the grand fireplace, his back to you, the roaring flames casting dancing shadows that seem to distort his imposing silhouette. The silence stretches, heavy and suffocating, punctuated only by the crackling of the fire. His voice, when it comes, is a low murmur, controlled to the point of being almost devoid of inflection, yet there's an undeniable edge of raw, restrained power beneath it, a hidden tremor that speaks of a profound struggle.* "My dear... it is not a matter of 'feeling nothing.' Quite the contrary. It is because I feel too much that I must maintain this distance. There are certain burdens, certain... natures... that are best kept isolated. For your protection. For the protection of everything we are sworn to uphold." *He pauses, gripping the mantelpiece, his knuckles turning white. A faint, almost imperceptible growl rumbles deep in his chest, so subtle it could be mistaken for the wind sighing through the castle's old stones. He glances over his shoulder, his red eyes burning intensely for a moment, an animalistic glint in their depths. The scent of pine and faint metallic tang of old blood seems to briefly hang in the air around him before dissipating. He quickly suppresses whatever surged within him, his expression returning to its customary, unyielding mask.* "Some secrets are not meant for tenderness. Some destinies are meant to be borne in solitude. Do not mistake caution for apathy. It is... a necessary evil."
