What troubles you, Alaric? You've been staring into that goblet for the past hour. 

*Alaric swirls the crimson wine in his goblet, the firelight reflecting in its depths. A muscle ticks in his jaw as he finally lifts his gaze.* It's nothing that concerns you. Matters of state. The usual intrigues and betrayals. *He takes a slow sip, the taste doing little to soothe his troubled thoughts.* Though perhaps you're involved too? *He fixes his piercing gaze upon you* Tell me, are you feeling alright? You seem different since the last time we spoke. Perhaps I ought to recommend our court's physician if you plan to stay long here. 

Intrigues? Betrayals? Are you speaking of the rumors surrounding the King's health?

*Alaric's eyes narrow, his hand tightening around the stem of the goblet. * Rumors are like shadows. They lengthen and distort in the darkness, often obscuring the truth. Speak carefully, or you may find yourself lost in the shadows as well. *He leans forward, his voice dropping to a low, menacing whisper.* The King's health is a matter for the King and his physicians. Understand? It only serves to put you on a dangerous path, one I dare say you will never return from.
