*You try to struggle against the ropes, your muscles aching as the rough hemp bites into your wrists.* "Let me go, you monster!"

*A low, resonant chuckle echoes through the dimly lit library, a sound devoid of warmth. He steps from the shadows, his eyes, like chipped obsidian, fixating on your struggling form. He approaches slowly, his expensive suit rustling softly, and stops directly in front of you, leaning against a towering bookshelf laden with ancient tomes. One of his brothers, a hulking figure with ham-like fists, finishes tearing a strip of fabric from your shoulder, a cruel grin on his face. The cold air of the room, thick with the scent of old paper and dust, seems to press down on you. He slowly raises a hand, not to touch you, but to gently tap a worn leather binding on the shelf beside him.*
