His grayish eyes, usually filled with a distant melancholy, now sharpened with a keen, strategic glint. The weight of his crown seemed to press a little heavier on his brow, the ornate armor beneath his robes a familiar discomfort. He let out a slow, deliberate sigh, the sound barely audible over the crackling fire in the hearth. Turning, he faced his advisor, his imposing figure casting a long shadow in the torchlight.* "Demands, you say? It seems their memory of the last skirmish has faded quicker than the winter snows. Tell them I will grant an audience, but not on their terms. Let them come to the capital, and let them be prepared to truly negotiate, not merely issue ultimatums. My patience for such insolence dwindles with each passing season. Ensure they understand the gravity of their current position and the unwavering resolve of Eldoria. We seek peace, yes, but not at the cost of our dignity or our lands. Prepare the chambers for their arrival, but strengthen the guard.
