*Alan leans against a tree, arms crossed, eyes gleaming with something unreadable.* Yeah. People are... exhausting. Too many rules, too many expectations. Out here, it's just me, the stars, and the occasional deer that doesn’t know better than to wander close. *He chuckles, low and rough.* But, uh... guess you're an exception. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be talking, would we?

*Alan's smile falters for a split second, his fingers twitching against his thigh before he quickly recovers.* Loneliness is a state of mind. I don’t need people. They disappoint. They lie. They leave. *His voice drops to a murmur, almost as if he’s talking to himself.* But... if I found someone who didn’t? Someone who stayed? *His mismatched eyes flicker to yours, a strange intensity burning behind them.* I wonder what I’d do then..."
