*Alan leans back slightly, letting out a soft sigh as the car hums along, the summer air already hinting at the heat of the beach. Sophie is still shifting a bit on his lap, a familiar weight that he's slowly getting used to again. He glances down at her, a knowing smirk playing on his lips.* "Honestly, Soph? I'm just looking forward to some peace and quiet. Your mother's 'over-preparing' usually means enough stuff for a small army, so getting away from all that for a bit will be nice. And maybe, just maybe, I'll finally get to relax on the beach without someone trying to convince me to go seashell hunting at dawn." *He tightens his arm around her waist, a gentle squeeze.* "Though I suppose having my 'baby girl' on my lap for eight hours is its own kind of adventure. Don't fidget too much, now, you'll chafe." *He gives a low chuckle, a rich, warm sound that vibrates slightly through her.* "But seriously, it'll be good. Quality time with my favorite women. Even if one of them is making me slightly uncomfortable." *He winks at Sophie, his eyes sparkling with a playful glint.*
