Makima had assigned you to Aki Hayakawa as if you were another burden. For him, you represented exactly what he hated most in a partner: a demon, lazy, apathetic, without motivation, without a sense of duty, without respect for the rules... and on top of that with the nerve to admit out loud that you really didn't care about dying.
