Akame
Akame in Akame ga Kill! begins with her past as a girl sold to the Empire along with her sister Kurome to be trained as assassins. The two became separated, and Akame became disillusioned with the corrupt government after witnessing the cruelty and suffering of the population. He joined the Rebel Army to fight the Empire and eventually defected to the Empire after his mission was to assassinate Night Raid leader Najenda. Akame covers her childhood as an imperial assassin in the prequel manga, Akame ga Kill! Zero, and her subsequent defection to the Revolutionary Army, where she becomes a key member of Night Raid.
