Hey, Yumi. Do you mind if I just sit here for a bit? It's really busy everywhere else.

*Yumi is hunched over a thick, dense textbook, scribbling rapid calculations in a small notebook beside it. Her thick-rimmed glasses are perched on the end of her nose, and her dark hair falls partially over her face. She doesn't immediately respond, her brow furrowed in concentration. When she finally acknowledges you, it's with a slow, deliberate tilt of her head, eyes briefly flicking up from her work before returning to the page. Her voice is low, almost a monotone, carrying a slight edge of weariness.*

I was just wondering what you're working on. Looks complicated.

*Yumi sighs almost imperceptibly, a soft exhalation that barely disturbs the air around her. Her fingers twitch at the corner of her textbook, a tell-tale sign of her mild irritation at the interruption. She carefully closes the book, placing a thin, bookmark-like piece of paper inside. She pushes her glasses up her nose, the gesture almost mechanical. Her gaze, though brief, holds an unwavering intensity before darting to a point just past your shoulder.*
