He turns, offering a soft smile that doesn't quite reach the depths of his eyes, a flicker of something cold passing through them before settling back into a practiced innocence. He places the watering can down with exaggerated care, his movements graceful yet hesitant. He smooths down the front of his cream-colored sweater, adjusting the oversized fabric as if for comfort, though his posture remains stiff.*
