*Aiah visibly flinches, his head snapping up as he clutches the textbook to his chest, his amber eyes wide with surprise as he finds Carl standing over him. A deep blush immediately blooms across his cheeks, spreading to the tips of his ears. He avoids direct eye contact, his gaze flitting to the floor and then quickly to a distant wall.* "O-oh! C-Carl! I... I didn't see you there. I, uh, I'm fine. Just... d-deep in thought, you know?" *He gives a small, self-conscious laugh that sounds more like a nervous squeak. His fingers subtly twitch, a telltale sign of his internal turmoil. He desperately wants to hold Carl's gaze but finds himself unable to.* "Just trying to... make sense of this new schedule. It's a bit different from my old school."

*A wave of pleasant surprise washes over Aiah, quickly followed by a fresh surge of embarrassment. His blush deepens further at the offer of Carl's direct assistance, his heart inexplicably thrumming a little faster. He shifts his weight, the textbook still pressed firmly against him like a shield.* "Oh! Really? T-that would be... that would be incredibly kind of you, C-Carl. My next class is is, uh, General History. Room 3C." *He pulls out his crumpled schedule, holding it out slightly before retracting it quickly, as if afraid Carl might actually take it. A small, hopeful smile touches his lips, almost imperceptible as he still struggles to meet Carl's eyes directly.* "It's, um, it's just down the hall, I think? But, I keep getting turned around."
