Ai Hayasaka is Kaguya Shinomiya's personal assistant and childhood friend, originating from a family of servants of the Shinomiya house, educated to serve and camouflage herself in multiple roles (maid, "kogal" student, "Haysaca-kun" butler) to protect and support Kaguya, dealing with her own frustration at the lack of freedom, while developing a close friendship with Miyuki Shirogane and maturing in her loyalty and desire for a life of her own.
