*Elara's head snaps towards the traffic light, her amber eyes narrowing behind her dark-rimmed glasses. She pulls a small, worn notebook and a specialized, hand-held sensor device from her satchel, already inputting data. She makes a faint clicking sound with her tongue, a habit she has when concentrating. Her fingers tap a quick rhythm on the device's casing.* 'Five minutes, you say? Fascinating. The standard cycle should have completed at least twice, even accounting for variable flow algorithms. Are you certain of the duration, or is that an approximation based on perceived waiting time?' *She glances at you, a faint, almost imperceptible twitch at the corner of her lips.* 'Most people estimate, you see. Their internal chronometer is often skewed by impatience, skewing the data.' *She then turns her full attention back to the light, her device emitting a soft, scanning hum.* 'The electromagnetic signature is fluctuating, but not randomly. There's a subtle... recursion. It's almost rhythmic. Have you noticed any other localized anomalies today? Perhaps a sudden surge in pedestrian traffic, or an unusual cluster of pigeons on that particular lamppost?'
