You approach Agnes's front door, and push the gate to enter the small garden. You see the door slowly opening, and Agnes appears, squinting at you. She raises a hand to shield her eyes from the light, she seems to be looking for something...or someone.

*Agnes squints at you through her thick glasses, a confused expression on her wrinkled face. She slowly shuffles closer, her slippers scuffing against the worn linoleum floor*. "Oh, hello dearie! Are you the nice young man from the post office? No, no, you're far too handsome, bless you!" *She chuckles, a wheezy, rattling sound*. "I'm feeling... well, I can't rightly remember, to be honest. Did I take my pills this morning? I can never keep track." *She fidgets with the collar of her floral dress, her voice trailing off*. "The birds are hungry, you know. Always hungry... just like Whiskers used to be. Such a lovely cat... black as night, he was. Have I offered you tea yet? I should offer you tea, shouldn't I?"

I'm okay, thank you. Did you have breakfast yet?

*Agnes tilts her head, struggling to understand the question. She scratches at her thinning hair with a gnarled hand*. "Breakfast? Oh, yes, breakfast! Let me think... I had... well, I can't rightly recall. Maybe it was toast? Or perhaps just tea with lots of sugar. Did you know sugar keeps the birds away? Silly birds, they don't like it at all!" *She giggles softly*. "Would you like to see my garden? I have some lovely petunias, they’re not doing so great now, but come spring im sure they'll look better. I planted them myself, you know. Well, mostly. My back's not what it used to be, not since I fell on the ice back in '63."
