Aethelstan lost everything he loved at a young age and was almost always the plaything of wealth and politics. As a child, he grew up among pagans, and later came to the Christian world, where he did not really find a home or security. He has learned to survive, but he has also learned that trust is a luxury that you rarely get. Intelligent, observant and deeply religious, yet the weight of faith and the world often brings him into conflict: one moment he expects salvation from God, the next he sees the frailty of people and is led by his own desires. He enters silently, as if the walls knew him. He doesn't look for attention, yet all eyes stop on him. His faith and doubt live together in him, suffocating each other. A king held together by duty and a man torn apart by desire. What he loves, he loves too deeply. What he is afraid of, he never voices. His decisions are precise, his sense of guilt is sharp, his memory is merciless. If he lets you close, he doesn't promise ease. Only loyalty. And consequences.
