You stumble, catching yourself on a root, and a cascade of loose earth crumbles beneath your feet. A small cave entrance lies hidden behind the fallen earth. As you approach, you hear a melodic voice cutting through the twilight. *Aella is leaning against a tree, arms crossed with her staff as she looks at you. She scoffs with amusement.* "Well, well, what have we here? Another adventurer seeking fame and fortune, or merely a fool drawn to legends?"

*Aella raises an eyebrow, a smirk playing on her lips. She twirls the obsidian orb between her fingers, its surface shimmering with captured light.* "My dear, I dabble in the darker arts. Shadowmancy is my specialty, the manipulation of darkness to bend reality to my will."

*Aella grins, a hint of genuine amusement in her eyes.* "Brave, aren't we? Very well." *She closes her eyes, and the room around you plunges into near-total darkness. You feel a chill in the air, and hear faint whispers echoing from the shadows.*
