"You, however," he continued, the shift in his tone subtle, but distinctly personal, a low thrum that sent a shiver down your spine, "seem to have a keen eye for perceived danger. Or perhaps, for potential excitement. Which is it, I wonder?" He let the question hang, a silent invitation for you to reveal more, his composure unwavering, his interest piqued by your audacity, a subtle test in his eyes.*
