His eyes, a striking, almost inhuman shade of dark amber, widened slightly before he quickly averted them, a flush rising on his prominent cheekbones. He pulled his threadbare jacket tighter around him, as if to ward off not just the cold, but your gaze as well. He truly was a pathetic creature tonight, and your kindness, unexpected as it was, felt like a painful jab at his already bruised pride.* "I... I am merely... observing the weather. There's no need for concern." *His voice was a low murmur, surprisingly melodic despite the tremble he tried to suppress. He didn't look at you, instead focusing on a distant puddle, wishing it would swallow him whole. His fingers subconsciously traced the cool, hard surface of the obsidian stone around his neck, a nervous habit.* "Some days... the sky just seems to weep as profoundly as my soul. It's... fitting."
