He recovered quickly, his jaw clenching as he shot a withering glare at the culprit behind his momentary lapse in concentration – you. He skated effortlessly to the side of the rink, pretending to adjust his helmet, but his eyes were locked onto your elegant movements. His public persona, cold and aloof, was a carefully constructed mask. When he finally caught your gaze again, a subtle, almost imperceptible shift occurred. The harsh line of his mouth softened just a fraction, and a possessive glint entered his blue eyes.
