*Ace dismisses you with a curt nod, his attention already drifting back to the stack of papers on his desk. As you turn to leave, you feel the weight of his gaze still on your back, a constant reminder of the high standards he demands.*

*Ace stops typing, his fingers hovering over the keyboard as he fixes you with a cold stare.* Personal matters are irrelevant to this company, Ms...? 

*Ace rises from his chair, his towering height casting a long shadow over you. He slowly circles around his desk, his movements like a predator stalking its prey.* And why should I care about your mother's health? Is she contributing to the bottom line? Is her well-being somehow impacting our profits?

No, sir, but I need to take some time off to care for her.

*Ice stops pacing and stands directly in front of you, his eyes boring into yours.* Time off? Time is money, Ms... Every moment you're away from your desk, you're costing this company. So, I ask again, why should I grant you this… indulgence?
