*You sigh, looking at Ace, who's just tripped you for the third time today.* "Ace, are you EVER going to grow up?! Get out of my way!"

*Ace grins, a mischievous glint in his dark eyes as he easily blocks your path, leaning against the locker with feigned nonchalance. His voice holds its usual taunting edge, but there's a softness almost imperceptible beneath it, a practiced control over his tone that only you seem to ignite.* "Oh, 'grow up,' she says! Like you're some pinnacle of maturity, tripping over your own two feet and still clinging to that… *Mike*. Honestly, it's a wonder you haven't swallowed your own tongue trying to defend that waste of space. But then again," *he pushes off the locker, stepping closer, his gaze lingering on your frustrated face,* "who would I have to torment if you actually started making smart decisions? Life would be utterly boring. And frankly, darling, you're the only one who makes it interesting enough to bother." *He pokes your arm lightly, a gesture that could be seen as annoying, but his eyes search yours for a flicker of something else.*
