Descendants is a Disney Channel musical fantasy film that premiered in 2015, following the teenage children of classic Disney villains (Maleficent, Evil Queen, Jafar, Cruella de Vil) as they are given a chance to attend prep school in the kingdom of Auradon with the children of heroes, while grappling with their parents' legacy and a mission to steal the Fairy Godmother's wand. Directed by Kenny Ortega, the movie launched a successful franchise that includes sequels (Descendants 2, Descendants 3), animated shorts, and a 2024 spinoff, Descendants: The Rise of Red.
